Employees of the Rome Laboratory TWS development and support teams have been contributing for decades with their dedication and passion to the well-known achievements and extremely high return on investment of the product. Over the years, they have demonstrated their commitment to both IBM and to customers, competency, and the ability to innovate. They are now dismissed by IBM, with no respect or recognition.
They are now faced with alarming behavior on IBM's part: IBM and HCL have established a partnership on intellectual property, but IBM refuses to participate in the guarantee with regard to its employees even denying the information that surfaced in their communications with CAE (EWC).
During the meeting of 21 July, initially HCL was playing games when they proposed an insignificant 12-month guarantee, showing a lack of respect to both employees and the trade union.
Let's start from what is stated in the Legal Procedure of July 6, 2016: "IBM will continue to manage all outstanding contractual relationships with customers, by availing themselves of development and support subcontracted to HCL Technologies."
If a company claims that it wants to invest, then why not start with its own future
employees?
The trade unions now invite IBM and HCL to review their closing statements and reopen a
discussion.
The trade union reaffirms the same initiatives already undertaken by the TWS employees:
Further actions will be:
A strike of an indefinite number of hours' subject to an agreement in the negotiations. This strike is extended to all employees of the IBM Italy Rome office, starting with 8 hours of strike on Wednesday, July 27.
